Andrej Omejc began studying the saxophone at the age of eight at the Domžale Primary Music School. He continued his musical education under Prof. Dejan Prešiček at the Conservatory for Music and Ballet Ljubljana and the Academy of Music of the University of Ljubljana, and later with Prof. Daniel Gauthier at the Cologne University of Music and Dance. He completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Music and Theatre Munich in the class of Prof. Koryun Asatryan.
Omejc is a laureate of numerous national and international competitions, including the TEMSIG Competition (Slovenia), the Varaždin Woodwind and Brass Competition (Croatia), the Davorin Jenko Competition (Belgrade, Serbia), the Antonio Salieri Competition (Legnago, Italy), and the International Music Competition for Young People in Oldenburg (Germany).
He has performed at major national and international music festivals such as IMAGO Sloveniae, Festival Ljubljana, Festival Lent, GM Stage Festival, Festwochen Gmunden, and the Stockholm Music Festival, among others. As a soloist, he has appeared with the Domžale–Kamnik Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory for Music and Ballet Ljubljana, the Orchestra of the Slovenian Police, the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, and the Slovenian Philharmonic Choir.
In recognition of his artistic achievements, he received the Škerjanec Prize, awarded to the most successful students of the Conservatory for Music and Ballet Ljubljana. In 2022, he was also honoured with the Municipality of Domžale Award for his contributions to the musical field.
Andrej Omejc is a former member of the European Union Youth Orchestra, with which he toured the United Arab Emirates and performed at the Armistice Day ceremony in Paris, attended by more than 100 national leaders. Since 2019, he has been a member of Ensemble 4Saxess, performing at concert venues around the world.
